Canon Trade-In Program!

IMG_0115.JPG

Did you know Canon has a trade in program? Well, neither did I when I broke my 6D and decided I rather upgrade than spend the money on fixing it. I ordered my new to me (shout out refurb for saving some money) Canon 6D Mark ii. A few months later and I was ready to upgrade my lens too. I started poking around the internet to see if Canon had any kind of discounts for students or trade ins. I found some very old posts about the Canon trade in program but not much information on it. I chatted with their online support that confirmed they had such a program and to call sales, which I did. So, here it is Canon’s super secret (not really) trade in program.

It’s not a typical trade in program where you essentially sell back your products to the company and you get credit based on what it is worth. Any Canon lens or camera body, working or not , gets you 15% off of new or 10% off of refurbished items. It’s lens for lens and camera for camera. Meaning if you want a new lens they will ask for the serial number of the lens you own. But that’s it! They don’t ask what condition it is in or to mail it to them. Just the serial number for you to keep you item and get a discount. To get this discount you have to call Canon’s sales department, let them know you want to do the trade in, and place your order over the phone. As far as I know this works for all Canon products but if you are unsure give them a call to see if your products apply.

There you go! How to save a little money for your next big Canon purchases.
